The Blue Turquoise Marble Angelfish is a breathtaking variant of the classic angelfish, featuring an elegant mix of blue and turquoise hues accentuated by intricate marbled black and silver markings. This distinctive coloration shifts depending on lighting and water conditions, making it a stunning centerpiece for any freshwater aquarium. Like all Pterophyllum scalare, this variety has a graceful, tall-bodied shape and long flowing fins that give it a majestic presence in planted and community tanks.
What We Love About This Fish:
• Striking Coloration – A mesmerizing blend of blue, turquoise, and black marbling.
• Graceful and Elegant – Tall-bodied angelfish with long, flowing fins.
• Active and Engaging – Recognizes its owners and exhibits social behaviors.
• Excellent for Planted Tanks – Looks stunning among lush greenery.
Natural Habitat:
Angelfish are native to the slow-moving waters of the Amazon River basin, where they are commonly found in areas with dense vegetation, submerged roots, and driftwood. Their natural habitat consists of soft, slightly acidic waters with gentle flow and plenty of shaded hiding spots.
Aquascaping:
• Plants: Best kept in aquariums with live plants like Amazon Sword, Vallisneria, Anubias, and Java Fern.
• Hardscape: Utilize driftwood and smooth river stones to replicate their natural environment.
• Botanicals: Indian Almond Leaves and Alder Cones can help maintain optimal water conditions.
Diet and Feeding:
The Blue Turquoise Marble Angelfish is an omnivore and thrives on a varied diet that includes:
✔ High-quality flakes and pellets (protein-rich formulas preferred)
✔ Frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia
✔ Occasional vegetable matter like blanched spinach or spirulina-based foods
A well-balanced diet will enhance their vibrant coloration and overall health.
Tank Mates and Compatibility:
This angelfish is generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially during breeding. Best suited for community tanks with other semi-peaceful fish of similar size. Recommended tank mates include:
✔ Peaceful tetras (Congo Tetras, Lemon Tetras)
✔ Dwarf cichlids (Apistogramma, Bolivian Rams)
✔ Corydoras catfish
✔ Larger-bodied rasboras and peaceful loaches
🚫 Avoid fin-nipping species like tiger barbs or overly aggressive cichlids.
Shrimp Safe?
Not recommended for shrimp tanks. Adult angelfish may prey on dwarf shrimp or their fry.
Breeding:
Blue Turquoise Marble Angelfish are relatively easy to breed in the right conditions. They prefer vertical surfaces for egg-laying, such as broad-leaf plants or slate. Pairs will form strong bonds and defend their eggs, with fry hatching in 48-72 hours.

Shipping Schedule for this service
Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
Shipping Rate
Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
