The Blue Coral Guppy is a dazzling variety that features deep iridescent blues across its body and fins. Both males and females are available, with males displaying the most intense coloration while females add a subtler, elegant contrast. Proudly bred in-house at Aquatic Arts, these guppies are hardy, adaptable, and consistently healthy — perfect for community aquariums.

What We Love About This Fish:

• Brilliant blue coloration that enhances any aquascape
• Hardy and beginner-friendly, yet stunning enough for advanced aquarists
• Peaceful temperament, ideal for planted community tanks
• Active swimmers that bring lively movement to the aquarium

Natural Habitat:

The original guppy (Poecilia reticulata) was first documented in South America, thriving in freshwater streams, ponds, and pools. The Blue Coral variety was selectively bred in captivity to emphasize its striking coloration and shimmering appearance.

Aquascaping:

• Plants: Java Moss, Hornwort, Amazon Sword, Guppy Grass, and floating plants such as Frogbit or Duckweed
Hardscape: Smooth river stones, driftwood, or slate to provide structure without overshadowing their colors
Botanicals: Indian Almond Leaves, alder cones, or catappa bark to enrich the aquarium and promote natural foraging

Diet and Feeding:

Blue Coral Guppies thrive on a varied omnivorous diet. Provide a staple of high-quality flake food or micro pellets, and supplement with live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, White Worms, Grindal Worms, and bloodworms to boost color and vitality.

Tank Mates and Compatibility:

This guppy is peaceful and does well with rasboras, small tetras, Corydoras catfish, and other community species. Avoid housing them with aggressive or fin-nipping fish.

Shrimp Compatibility:

Compatible with adult and larger dwarf shrimp, but may prey on small shrimp fry. Provide mosses and dense plant cover to protect young shrimp.

Breeding:

Guppies are livebearers that breed readily in aquariums. Males court females with vivid displays, and females give birth to free-swimming fry. Dense vegetation or breeding boxes will increase fry survival.

Shipping Schedule for this service

UPS 1 Day: Monday through Thursday

Current Handling Time:

1-9 business days

Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.

Shipping Rate

Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
