Whorled Pennywort (Hydrocotyle Verticillata) Perfect for beginners and experts, this versatile plant thrives in various setups.
Hydrocotyle Verticillata tissue culture, also known as Whorled Pennywort, is a delicate and graceful aquatic plant that will add a touch of elegance to your aquarium. With its distinctive whorls of small round leaves, this plant creates a captivating visual effect as it gently sways in the water currents. Hydrocotyle Verticillata is an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists, as it is relatively easy to care for and can thrive in various aquatic setups.
When planting Hydrocotyle Verticillata, carefully insert the stems into the substrate. Ensure that the roots are gently covered by the substrate while keeping the leaves above the substrate surface. Proper planting will help the plant establish itself and anchor securely in the aquarium.
Regular trimming is essential for the well-being of your Hydrocotyle Verticillata. As the plant grows, some stems may become overgrown and affect its overall appearance. By trimming these excess stems, you encourage the plant to grow more compact and bushier, enhancing its visual appeal.
Like most plants, Hydrocotyle Verticillata will benefit from supplementation such as Seachem Flourish, Flourish Excel, Flourish Nitrogen, Flourish Iron, and other plant supplements.
This listing is for the tissue culture form of Hydrocotyle Verticillata. Tissue cultures are superior to traditional forms of aquarium plants in many ways. They are produced in a completely sterile environment which eliminates the possibility of them carrying pest snails or algae spores. They have a shelf life (before introduction to the aquarium) of several months if properly maintained and they are housed in a nutrient gel until introduced to the aquarium. To introduce a tissue culture plant to the aquarium, simply rinse off as much nutrient gel as possible, then plant as usual. The nutrient gel will not harm your aquarium.

Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
