The Assorted Dwarf Rasbora (Boraras sp.) pack offers a stunning collection of some of the smallest and most colorful freshwater fish in the hobby. This selection may include various species such as the Chili Rasbora (Boraras brigittae), Strawberry Rasbora (Boraras naevus), Phoenix Rasbora (Boraras merah), and Pygmy Rasbora (Boraras maculatus)—each known for its bright coloration, peaceful nature, and shoaling behavior.

NOTE: This pack may contain a mix of different species or all of the same species depending on availability at the time of shipping. A mixed assortment is not guaranteed.

Despite possible species variation, all Boraras sp. can shoal together peacefully and thrive in the same water parameters, making this pack a perfect addition to any planted nano aquarium.

What We Love About This Fish:

Vibrant Variety: May include a colorful mix of Boraras species
Nano-Sized: Ideal for small tanks and aquascapes
Peaceful Nature: Great for community tanks with other small species
Shoaling Behavior: Best kept in groups for natural movement and color

Natural Habitat:

Each Boraras species originates from slow-moving, heavily shaded forest streams in Southeast Asia. These environments are rich in leaf litter and plant debris with soft, acidic water.

Aquascaping:

Plants: Fine-leaved and floating plants like Java Moss, Frogbit, and Cryptocoryne
Hardscape: Driftwood, leaf litter, and soft substrate for a natural feel
Botanicals: Indian Almond Leaves and Alder Cones help recreate their native habitat

Diet and Feeding:

These fish are micro-predators and do best with a varied diet. Feed high-quality micro pellets, crushed flakes, and live or frozen foods like baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and cyclops for optimal health and color.

Tank Mates and Compatibility:

Perfect for peaceful community setups with other nano fish like ember tetras, celestial pearl danios, and dwarf gouramis. Avoid large or aggressive fish.

Shrimp Safe:

Yes, generally safe with adult dwarf shrimp. As with most small fish, they may eat very young shrimp fry, so plenty of plant cover is helpful.

Breeding:

Egg scatterers that may spawn in heavily planted tanks, but eggs and fry are often eaten unless separated or protected. Spawning in fine-leaved plants or mosses is typical.

Recommended Tank Parameters:

Temperature: 72° - 80° F (22° - 27° C)
pH: 5.5 - 7.0
KH: 1 - 6
Minimum Tank Size: 5 gallons (10+ gallons recommended for larger groups)

Care Guidelines:

Diet: Omnivorous—small pellets, flakes, live/frozen microfoods

Average Adult Size: 0.5 – 0.8 inches (1.3 – 2 cm)

Shipping Schedule for this service

UPS 1 Day: Monday through Thursday

Current Handling Time:

1-9 business days

Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.

Shipping Rate

Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
