Discover one of our newest habitat essentials — the Aquatic Arts Natural Hide Combo Pack.

A functional blend of three natural structures designed to bring enrichment, shelter, and natural behavior into your aquarium. This curated combo creates secure refuge zones for bottom-dwelling species while adding organic structure and visual depth to your aquascape.

Built for both enrichment and breeding, this pack provides natural hides that support stress reduction, territory formation, and instinctive behaviors across a wide range of freshwater species.

Each pack includes one of each hide type, giving you a balanced mix of structure, texture, and habitat function.

We love this pack — and we know your fish and inverts will too!

What’s Inside & Why It Matters:

Coconut Hut – A sturdy, natural cave structure that provides secure shelter for resting, hiding, and breeding. Ideal for species that rely on enclosed spaces for comfort and spawning.

Beal Pod – Naturally hollow with textured surfaces, Beal Pods create refuge spaces and grazing zones for shrimp, snails, and microfauna while supporting healthy biofilm development.

Buddha Pod – Adds layered structure and depth to the aquarium, creating additional micro-habitats for shy, territorial, and bottom-dwelling species.

Together, these pieces form a natural habitat system that supports both physical structure and biological function in the aquarium.

Features We Love:

Three Natural Hides: Coconut hut, Beal pod, and Buddha pod in one curated pack
Enrichment Focused: Encourages natural hiding, grazing, and exploration behaviors
Breeding Support: Provides secure shelter zones for spawning and nesting species
Biofilm Friendly: Organic surfaces promote natural grazing areas for invertebrates
Aquascape Balance: Adds structure and depth without cluttering the layout

Usage:

Rinse all pieces thoroughly before placing in the aquarium.
Boiling is optional to help with sterilization and faster sinking.

Arrange the hides throughout the tank to create multiple shelter zones and natural hiding spaces. These structures can be used alone or combined with driftwood, plants, and botanicals for a more complete habitat layout.

Ideal For:

Bottom-dwelling fish (corydoras, plecos, loaches)
Breeding setups for select cichlids and cave-spawning species
Shrimp and snail tanks
Dwarf crayfish and invertebrate communities
Community aquariums needing added structure and shelter

ARTS in Action:

Aquascaping: Creates natural structure and layered habitat design
Responsibility: Species-appropriate shelter that supports animal welfare
Thriving Life: Encourages natural behavior, breeding, and stress reduction
Storytelling: Organic materials that reflect real aquatic environments

Bring structure, shelter, and enrichment into your aquarium with the Aquatic Arts Natural Hide Combo Pack — a functional habitat blend designed to support thriving fish, healthy invertebrates, and a more natural, balanced aquarium ecosystem.

Q: Is this pack safe for shrimp and snails?

A: Yes. All components in the Natural Hide Combo Pack are aquarium-safe and suitable for shrimp, snails, and other freshwater invertebrates.

Q: Will this affect my water chemistry?

A: The natural materials may release very mild tannins, which are beneficial for many freshwater species. These tannins can slightly tint the water but help support a healthier, more natural environment.

Q: Do I need to boil the hides before using them?

A: Boiling is optional but recommended. It helps sterilize the materials and allows them to sink more quickly. At minimum, a thorough rinse is required before use.

Q: Can this be used in planted tanks?

A: Yes. This pack is fully compatible with planted aquariums and integrates well with live plants, driftwood, and botanical layouts.

Q: Is this pack suitable for breeding tanks?

A: Yes. The Coconut Hut, Beal Pod, and Buddha Pod all provide enclosed and semi-enclosed spaces that are ideal for breeding, spawning, and sheltering fry.

Q: What fish benefit most from this pack?

A: Bottom-dwelling species such as corydoras, plecos, loaches, and select cichlids benefit the most, along with shy community fish that prefer shelter and cover.

Q: Will invertebrates use these hides?

A: Yes. Shrimp, snails, dwarf crayfish, and microfauna use these structures for grazing, shelter, and protection, especially as biofilm develops on the surfaces.

Q: How many hides should I use per tank?

A: One pack works well for nano and small community tanks. Larger tanks may benefit from multiple packs to create multiple shelter zones and habitat areas.

Q: Are the sizes uniform?

A: No. Because these are natural materials, size, shape, and texture will vary slightly from piece to piece, which adds to their natural appearance and function.

Q: Can I combine this pack with botanicals and leaf litter?

A: Absolutely. This pack pairs perfectly with leaf litter, botanicals, and driftwood to create a complete natural habitat layout.

Shipping Schedule for this service

UPS 1 Day: Monday through Thursday

Current Handling Time:

1-9 business days

Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.

Shipping Rate

Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
