Details
The Micro Sword plant is known by many names, including Micro Sword Grass, Brazilian Micro Sword, Copragrass, and Carpet Grass. It is an very interesting-looking aquatic carpeting plant that always looks excellent in the foreground of aquariums. Micro Sword grass strands are thicker and shinier in appearance than hairgrass, but it grows just as fast and can give your aquarium a similar serene, prairie-like look.
Micro Sword grass is known to grow extremely fast under the right water conditions and is capable of quickly carpeting the floor of your aquarium. It grows much taller than other carpeting plants, making it excellent for providing cover for shrimp, fish, or any other critters that might dwell in your tank. It may require trimming back due to its speed of growth, especially in set-ups with high-intensity lighting. Interestingly, Micro Sword grass can thrive whether it's partially or fully immersed in water. If you want your Micro Sword to grow quickly, water with high amounts of nutrients is vital.
This plant is very low-maintenance, making it great for both beginners and experienced aquarium hobbyists! It does not need any special or high-intensity lighting, and it is perfectly safe to keep with all aquatic animals. The tall grass provides great cover and, like all live plants, helps keep water clean and high quality. As with all of our plants, our Micro Swords are kept in water in a plant-dedicated tank rather than plastic packaging, which means your plant will arrive bright and healthy.
Ideal water parameters include a temperature range of 70° to 83° F with a pH level of 6.8 to 7.5.
