Banana Plant (Nymphoides aquatica) - 1 Plant
- In stock, ready to ship
- Backordered, shipping soon
The Banana Plant is quite unusual and is sure to be one of the most compelling plants in any aquascape. It is a rosette plant that is named for its large and highly unique roots, which are banana-shaped and remain partially visible above the substrate. These roots are thick because they are where the plant stores nutrients. The Banana Plant also features round leaves that range from light to dark green. It is also known by the names "Big Floating Heart" and "Banana Lily."
The Banana Plant is known for its toughness, as it will grow in low-light setups and can flourish either fully or partially submerged. This plant can tolerate most types of water hardness and pH levels; however, it tends to do best in soft water with a pH of 6.0 to 7.2. The best temperature range for the Banana Plant is 68° to 82° F.
Our Banana Plant will ship as a loose bulb plant, that can grow up to about 6 inches tall in your aquarium. The Banana Plant in our pictures is one that is planted in one of our personal aquariums, and it is the same size we send to customers. It comes with bare roots that should be planted only partially under the substrate. We advise that you plant the roots no deeper than 1/4 inch in your substrate.

Shipping Schedule for this service
Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
Shipping Rate
Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
