Dwarf Anubias, also known as Anubias nana (or by its full scientific name: Anubias barteri var. nana), is a variation of the popular Anubias barteri plant. Like Anubias barteri, Dwarf Anubias is visually appealing and very easy to maintain; it can be either partially or fully submerged in water. It features large, dark green leaves that look very sleek and give the plant a tropical appearance.
Dwarf Anubias is notorious for its hardiness and ease of care. This plant will grow in just about any type of lighting, but its leaves grow more quickly and densely under high-intensity lighting. Dwarf Anubias is generally considered a slow grower when compared to other plants, but it has been known to grow up to 6 inches tall over time.
Anubias nana can tolerate just about any type of water hardness and pH levels; however, it tends to do best in soft water with a pH of 6.0 to 7.5. The ideal temperature range for this plant is 72° to 82° F. Like all of our plants, Dwarf Anubias is safe and beneficial to keep with fish, shrimp, snails, and other invertebrates, as it provides biofilm, hiding places, and security for all aquatic animals.
The leaves of this plant are large, pointed at the ends, and leathery in texture. Because the leaves are very tough, they are usually not eaten by fish or other plant-eating critters. As with all plants in the Anubias family, Dwarf Anubias grows from a rhizome, so it may need to be anchored down in your substrate or tied to driftwood or rocks.
The Dwarf Anubias plant in the picture is one that is planted in one of our personal aquariums, and it is the same size we send to our customers. Approximate shipping size ranges from 2 to 5 inches tall and 2 to 4 inches wide, which is larger than the shipping sizes of most others on the market! It comes with bare roots that should be planted under the substrate. As with all of our plants, we keep all of our Dwarf Anubias in water in a dedicated tank rather than plastic packaging, which means your plant will arrive bright and healthy.

Shipping Schedule for this service
Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
Shipping Rate
Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
