The Green Babaulti Shrimp (Caridina cf. babaulti) is a captivating dwarf shrimp species that's highly sought-after for its rarity in the United States. What sets ours apart is that they're tank-bred, ensuring consistent coloration and reliability.

Also known as the Chameleon or Rainbow shrimp due to their remarkable color-changing ability, these shrimp can display a mesmerizing array of hues including green, cyan, orange, and more as they mature. The shrimp we will send you may not be showing their true colors yet as these young shrimp take some time as they mature to show their true color potential. Do not be alarmed if the shrimp you receive at first may not show a lot of color just yet, they will burst into color as they get a little older and mature in your tank.

Our tank-bred Green Babaulti Shrimp thrive in aquarium settings and are known for their prolific breeding behavior, making them a delightful addition to any setup. Although their fry are smaller and grow more slowly compared to other shrimp species, they flourish in mature and dedicated dwarf shrimp aquariums.

While there's some debate about their breeding preferences concerning water hardness, they generally adapt well to a variety of conditions, provided extremes are avoided. Being a Caridina species, they do not interbreed with Neocaridina species, ensuring the integrity of their lineage.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these shrimp play a vital role in maintaining aquarium ecosystems. As efficient scavengers, they tirelessly feed on biofilm, algae, and decaying plant matter, contributing to the overall cleanliness of the tank.

Care Guidelines:

• Diet: Scavenger that feeds continually. Requires very little feeding in a well-established aquarium containing algae, biofilm, or decaying plant matter. In less mature setups, high-quality dry foods with high plant content can be fed multiple times daily.
