- pH: 6.0 to 7.5

- Origin: Native to Borneo, found growing on rocks and driftwood in fast-moving streams.
- Aquarium Placement: Place in the foreground or midground, ensuring rhizomes remain above the substrate to prevent rot.
- Care: Fertilize every few weeks with liquid fertilizer, and keep the wood clean to prevent excessive algae buildup.
Care Guidelines for Keeping This Plant out of Water:
- Humidity Levels: Keep humidity above 70%, ideal for terrariums or paludariums. Regular misting or a high-humidity environment helps mimic the natural habitat.
- Lighting: Provide low to moderate indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may scorch the leaves.
- Watering: Keep the wood and plant moist but not overly saturated. Mist regularly to maintain moisture on the leaves.
- Substrate: Ensure the rhizomes are not buried, as Bucephalandra thrives when attached to wood or rocks.
- Fertilization: Use slow-release fertilizers designed for terrarium plants sparingly to avoid nutrient imbalances.
- Trimming & Maintenance: Remove yellowing or dead leaves to promote healthy growth. Clean the wood periodically to prevent mold or fungal growth.
Maintenance:
- Trimming: Regularly trim dead or yellowing leaves to promote new growth.
- Cleaning: Gently clean both the wood and the plants to remove algae and debris.
- Water Changes: Perform 15-20% water changes weekly in aquariums to maintain water quality.
- Fertilization: Use a balanced liquid fertilizer or root tabs every 4-6 weeks for optimal plant health.

Shipping Schedule for this service
Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
Shipping Rate
Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
