What does “B-Grade” mean for Mystery Snails?
B-Grade snails are healthy, active snails that don’t meet cosmetic standards for premium listings. This usually means shell imperfections, uneven coloration, or minor chips—not health issues.
Are B-Grade Mystery Snails healthy?
Yes. These snails are fully healthy and tank bred. The grading is purely cosmetic and does not affect lifespan, activity, or usefulness in the aquarium.
What kind of shell imperfections should I expect?
You may see minor chips, rough edges, uneven growth lines, or color inconsistencies. These are common in growing snails and often become less noticeable over time with good care.
Do B-Grade Mystery Snails behave differently than A-Grade snails?
No difference at all. They eat, move, grow, and interact with the tank the same way as higher-grade snails.
Will shell condition improve over time?
Often, yes. With proper calcium, a good diet, and stable water parameters, new shell growth can look much smoother and healthier than older sections.
Are B-Grade Mystery Snails good algae eaters?
They help with soft algae, leftover food, and general cleanup. They’re best viewed as part of a clean-up crew rather than a sole algae solution.
Are these snails shrimp and fish safe?
Yes. Mystery Snails are peaceful and safe with fish and shrimp. They won’t bother tank mates or plants.
Do B-Grade Mystery Snails reproduce?
Yes. They reproduce the same way as any Mystery Snail. If you keep males and females together, egg clutches above the waterline are possible.
Who should consider B-Grade Mystery Snails?
They’re perfect for hobbyists who care more about function than appearance. If you want active, useful snails and don’t mind cosmetic quirks, B-Grade snails are a great value.
Why choose B-Grade Mystery Snails instead of premium snails?
You get the same species, same care requirements, and same behavior—just without paying extra for perfect shells. They’re ideal for planted tanks, breeding projects, classrooms, or utility roles.

Shipping Schedule for this service
Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
Shipping Rate
Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
