The Red King Cobra Guppy is a dazzling, high-impact variety of guppy that showcases bold crimson tones and intricate snakeskin-like markings across its body and tail. With its sweeping fins and vivid color, this variety is an eye-catching addition to any planted or community tank. These guppies are tank-bred, making them hardy, adaptable, and ideal for beginners and advanced hobbyists alike.
Available as Male, Female, or Breeding Pair (1 Male + 1 Female).
What We Love About This Fish:
• Striking Coloration: Deep red body and tail with intricate cobra patterning
• Peaceful Nature: Great for community tanks with other small, non-aggressive species
• Active Swimmers: Constantly on the move and very engaging to watch
• Great Breeding Potential: Easy to breed with simple tank setups
Natural Habitat:
Guppies originate from freshwater habitats in South America, often found in slow-moving streams and ditches rich with plant cover. The Red King Cobra Guppy has been selectively bred for its intense coloration and patterning.
Aquascaping:
• Plants: Java Moss, Hornwort, Amazon Sword, Anubias
• Hardscape: Smooth river stones, driftwood for cover
• Botanicals: Indian Almond Leaves or Catappa Bark for natural tannins and biofilm growth
Diet and Feeding:
Omnivorous and eager eaters. Feed high-quality flake food, micro pellets, and supplement with frozen or live foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, or bloodworms to enhance coloration and promote breeding.
Tank Mates and Compatibility:
Ideal with other peaceful fish like tetras, rasboras, and Corydoras. Avoid housing with fin-nippers or aggressive species.
Shrimp Safe:
Generally safe with adult shrimp. Fry may prey on shrimp babies, so provide plenty of hiding places if keeping with Neocaridina or Caridina shrimp colonies.
Breeding:
Guppies are livebearers and reproduce readily in a stress-free environment. Keep a ratio of 1 male to 2-3 females to reduce stress and promote successful breeding.

Shipping Schedule for this service
Current Handling Time:
1-9 business days
Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.
Shipping Rate
Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
