Natural Habitat:

Descended from wild angelfish native to the Amazon Basin. In the wild, these fish inhabit calm, slow-moving waters with dense vegetation and submerged driftwood or roots.

Aquascaping:

Gold Angelfish thrive in tall, vertically oriented tanks with natural decor. We recommend:

• Plants: Tall background plants like Amazon Swords, Vallisneria, and floating plants like Frogbit for shade and comfort

• Hardscape: Driftwood, vertical rocks, and branchy wood structures for swimming lanes

Diet and Feeding:

These angelfish are eager eaters and benefit from a varied omnivorous diet. Offer:

Tank Mates and Compatibility:

• Dwarf Gouramis

• Peaceful barbs and non-aggressive dwarf cichlids

Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping fish.

Shrimp Safe:

Gold Angelfish may eat small or baby shrimp. Larger adult shrimp can sometimes coexist in heavily planted tanks with plenty of cover.

Breeding:

Mature pairs will lay eggs on vertical surfaces such as broad leaves or slate. They may guard the eggs and fry, but a separate breeding setup is recommended for successful rearing.
