The Blue Cobra Guppy is a stunning tank-bred variety known for its electric blue hues, metallic shine, and wild cobra-like patterning across the body and fins. This vibrant livebearer is a favorite among aquarists for both its visual appeal and its hardy, adaptable nature. Whether you're starting a new nano tank or adding to a peaceful community aquarium, Blue Cobra Guppies bring constant motion and color to the scene.

What We Love About This Fish:

  • Electric Blue Coloration: Iridescent blue body with striking cobra patterning.

  • Hardy & Adaptable: Great for beginners and seasoned aquarists alike.

  • Lively Behavior: Always active, curious, and entertaining to watch.

  • Ideal for Breeding Projects: Livebearer species with stunning offspring potential.

Natural Habitat:

Guppies are native to slow-moving freshwater streams and ponds in South America. These tank-bred specimens thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water parameters and plenty of swimming room.

Aquascaping Recommendations:

  • Plants: Java Moss, Hornwort, Anubias, and Amazon Sword provide excellent cover and foraging space. Floating plants like Frogbit or Duckweed enhance breeding comfort.

  • Hardscape: Rounded stones, driftwood, and gentle-flow sponge filters help maintain a peaceful, safe space.

  • Botanicals: Indian Almond Leaves and Alder Cones enrich the water and promote overall health.

Diet and Feeding:

Blue Cobra Guppies are omnivores. They thrive on a varied diet that includes high-quality flake food, micro pellets, baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and other frozen or live treats to enhance color and vigor.

Tank Mates and Compatibility:

Peaceful and community-friendly, Blue Cobra Guppies do best with other small, non-aggressive species such as rasboras, small tetras, corydoras, snails, and shrimp.

Shrimp Safe:

Generally safe with adult shrimp, though baby shrimp may be at risk. Provide dense plants and mosses for fry and shrimp protection.

Breeding Information:

Blue Cobra Guppies are prolific livebearers. Males often pursue females, so a ratio of 1 male to 2–3 females is best to reduce stress and encourage breeding. Fry can be raised in the same tank if sufficient cover is provided.

Recommended Tank Parameters:

Shipping Schedule for this service

UPS 1 Day: Monday through Thursday

Current Handling Time:

1-9 business days

Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.

Shipping Rate

Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
