The Deluxe Female Halfmoon Dumbo Betta has beautiful coloration and oversized pectoral fins that resemble floppy elephant ears!

The Female Halfmoon Dumbo Betta, scientifically classified as Betta splendens, is an exquisite inclusion for any aquarium. Recognized for its graceful, flowing fins and vibrant hues, this particular Betta species brings an elegant and captivating presence to aquatic environments. Distinguished by its alluring coloration and notably large pectoral fins resembling floppy elephant ears, the Deluxe Female Halfmoon Dumbo Betta boasts a distinct visual charm.

Unlike their male counterparts, female Bettas are generally more peaceful and can coexist in community tanks without aggressive tendencies. They often display schooling behaviors, a rare trait in male Bettas. Female Bettas generally interact harmoniously with various fish species, particularly those of a non-aggressive nature. There have been instances of successful cohabitation with snails, loaches, tetras, plecos, and African dwarf frogs. While some Bettas have coexisted with shrimp, it's not guaranteed and thus requires caution.

Betta species live in slow or stagnant bodies of water, sometimes with very limited open swimming space. In addition to gills, they possess a labyrinth organ which allows them to breathe atmospheric air in oxygen-poor water Bettas are not particularly fast or active swimmers compared to some other species, but they should not be kept in small jars or bowls, contrary to the beliefs of some. Low water flow is appropriate, but filtration, heating, and the standard practices of keeping any aquarium fish are necessary for long-term care. Aquatic Arts does not endorse the long-term keeping of bettas in confined conditions or aquariums without filtration or heating. This betta species is not a picky eater and will eat a variety of meaty frozen, dry, and live foods. Variety is essential to maintaining optimal health and coloration.

Current Handling Time:

1-9 business days

Here at Aquatic Arts, we consider the welfare of the live animals we are shipping to be of the foremost importance. This process is much more involved than simply creating a shipping label and affixing it to a box. Depending on the order, it takes from 4 to 7 people to complete this process properly. We check the weather conditions here where they fly out of the Indianapolis UPS facility and the destination for each shipment. We start early each morning and go through a multi-step process to have the day's shipments prepared in time for the UPS pickup. The volume of orders in our system also affects the processing time. Therefore our stated handling time is 1-9 business days.

Shipping Rate

Pricing is by size of package needed to fill entire order and distance it must travel. It will be calculated at checkout.
